Partly for Information, although I am still searching for Thomas Turner and wish to look at the Davison, going back.

1861 Fanny Turner (nee Davison) at Beverley as Frances Bales

This Fanny Turner has been driving me crackers, to find at Lair Gate, Beverley, in the 1861 Census, having children at Hull and then Beverley, Yorkshire. Then I find this:-

John Bales, Fanny Turner, and Susannah Davison, were charged with having, on Saturday, the 19th inst, robbed James Push, a farm-servant, from Mount Pleasant, of £4. The robbery took place at a disreputable house in Lop-lane. The prisoners were remanded until Monday next.

Then I find in 1861 Census, Fanny Turner, is another man's 'Wife' ...

* In 1870 Christiana Turner, claimed Thomas Turner, was deceased, so something is either dodgy about her claim, or the Father, Thomas Turner, on the 1872 Birth Certificate, looks suspect?

It looks like Frances Turner and her Daughter, Christiana Turner were living with John Bales in 1861 at Beverley and changed their surnames to Bales and then split up from John Bales and changed their names back to Turner 

How I got involved with this lot, is that the Son of Alfred Wm Hood, born Selby, Yorkshire and Edith Scaum, the Son being - Philip Howard Hood born Latchford, Warrington 7th December 1891 (Reg'd 1892), married Frances Selena Turner, born 6th October 1890 at 8 Withernsea Street, Hull.

The above reply is interesting that Mary Roney's Gfather was from Selby, a Mariner and a Turner!

Although, a Thomas Turner, Mariner, born Selby, already of interest to me and researched was born 1802 and his Son, John Hood Turner, were born later.

I have a Frances Maria Turner, baptised Selby 1816 in my notes to find out what happened to her, one of the Daughters of Charles Turner and his Wife, Maud (Maudland for their other children and nee Hood).

I have acquired numerous documents and discovered two fairly good links from my Hood line back to George Hood (who has no circa 1786 baptism record) to old John Hood a Mariner buried Selby 1819 (Father of Maudland Hood bapt Scarborough), one by marriages which both go back to another couple before 1800 which suggest that my family tree line still highly likely knew family linked by marriages to the Charles & Maudland Turner line (when an offshoot of my line married in 1906 an offshoot of their line descendants which effectively spans the no baptism gap).

Also another link by association where people who associated with and were the several owners, a John Turner, then a Grocer, who sold to John Spencer (per Land Tax & Deed Memorial Registrations), the house tenanted by John Hood, Mariner 82 yrs (buried Selby 1819) fully link by marriages to a young heiress named on an 1838 property Deed of a number of properties being sold to my George Hood, which George sold on to separate buyers.

Then I have this other Hood line forward from George Hood of Selby (George Hood born about 1785/6 from his 1815 marriage and his 1845 death ages) which comes forward to Philip Howard Hood, who marries a Turner (partly traced backward in my first post), my inquisitiveness was immediately jangling, with a question in my mind, perhaps the Turner wife of Philip Howard Hood also links back across this gap somehow to Charles Turner and nee Maudland Hood, their missing daughter Frances, although I'm not sure yet, just investigating.
