George Arthur Riley 7 Feb 1910 Perth, Ontario
« on: Wednesday 11 June 25 10:13 BST (UK) »
The above married Helen Cowan Allison 26 Aug 1933 at London, Ontario; Helen was born c1909 in Scotland and a registered nurse, her parents were John and Jean Allison, George was a labourer and a baptist. I can't find her birth in Scotlands People records.
I wonder what happened to the couple after their marriage?

Helen may have been born Helen Rogers.

Helen ROGERS - 1908 - 644 / 17 / 578 - Gorbals.

There is a marriage in Ontario

David Cowan Allison - born 1888 Scotland.
Age   24
Marriage Date   9 Feb 1912 - Marriage Place   Middlesex, Ontario, Canada
Spouse   Jane Hillhouse Roger
Father   Robert Allison - Mother   Helen Cowan

Helen would be the illegitimate daughter of David and Jean.

The marriage certificate shows Helen's name as Allison and she signed her name as that too. Her parents were recorded as John Allison and Jean Rogers. The problem is that there isn't a census after 1931 to confirm her birth and occupation, etc.

Purchasing the birth certificate will confirm the mothers maiden name - Rogers.

Canada Voters List 1945 -  318  Tecumseh Avenue. London Ontario

George Riley - Painter
Helen Riley  - Nurse

Canada Voters List 1949 -  318  Tecumseh Avenue. London. Ontario.

Helen Riley - Nurse.

No George at this address -  so they may have split, he may have passed away ?? but there is a Francis Pickering (merchant)  Thelma Pickering (Forelady) and Elsie Warrington  - Silverwoods.
