Hi,
Has anybody heard of the address "
Dog Yard" in Bury, Lancs?
I've come across the address on the 1881 South Bury census.
The streets/residences immediately before "Dog Yard" are Union Street, Fleet Street and the White Horse Hotel.
The streets immediately after "Dog Yard" are Gutter Ends and Back Fleet Street.
I'm looking at
Thomas LANE, age 21 (c. 1860), born in Manchester. Thomas was a servant in the household of David & Martha CRAWFORD. David Crawford's occupation is publican. Was "Dog Yard" the name of a pub?
