My Cousin Linda when we were Both Researching Biographies for the Liverpoolpals Roll of Honour found Owen Enlisted under Surname O W Wells 17221 into the 18th Pals possibly with his other Church Mates of St Annes?

All may not be lost here. A lady who is helping out with this has found info (on Ancestry I think)
 that a William Riley who was on the Lucania in 1901 lived at 88 Church Road, right opposite our church. She's sent a screenshot of what she found. It says Liverpool Crew lists 1861-1919. May be of some help?

A notice in the Liverpool Post indicates this man was known as 'Willie' so I think you can discount him.
