« on: Sunday 08 June 25 11:14 BST (UK) »
Hi all . I am on a mission to try and find my 9th G Grandparents from France if possible . The Ancestry site only goes so far ... if anyone can help with the research i would be grateful . So Thomas de Rouffignac was born in 1610 in Charente France and His Wife was Marie de Mott . Any help is appreciated and thank you .

There have been several posts about this family here on Rootschat - I see some not replied to, but this one was.
https://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=854540.9

Glancing through them quickly, I don't think anybody had found the parents of John with wife Marie de Mott.

Added:
There is a tree on MyHeritage which gives the father of Thomas as Jacob Bevan Rouffignac, born at Puyeasquier, Gers, Midi-Pyrenees. No date given or any indication where that information came from. (according to Google maps, that's 340 kms away, so possibly a little unlikely!)

Also a tree on geneanet.org which gives his parents as 'Jacob Bevan de Rouffignac' and 'Elizabeth Bevan'.

They have Thomas dying in 1710 in France - making him a hundred years old.
Do you know if this is correct?

hi again . On the Ancestry tree it says Thomas Died in 1685 , which sounds reasonable enough . That's all I know . Many thanks .

Here are two later records. Is Jacob the son of Thomas? The will might have references to places or cousins in France. PCC wills are available from TNA for free when you sign in (also free).

Below you can search the French National Archives. There are quite many hits for ROFFIGNAC or ROUFFIGNAC, for example Jacques de ROFFIGNAC, chevalier, sieur de MALSAC (or Marzac).
