1901 census lookup. please, Devonport/Stoke Damerel
« on: Thursday 15 September 05 08:27 BST (UK) »
If anyone has access to a 1901 census database by address, I would be grateful for the name of the family living at St Michael's Lodge, Stoke Damerel/Devonport. The house had been inhabited by the Hare family for some years, but by 1901 they are not listed. The beautiful house later became a boarding school, which I attended as a small child, and is now sub-divided, and I am hoping to write a history of it. Thanks, Jos Le Voi, Brisbane.

Hello

In 1901 St Michael's Lodge was already a school, headmistress Mildred M. Raymond.

Here is the reference:

RG13/2109
Registration district: Devonport
Sub-registration district: Stoke
Folio: 23
Page: 37

Let me know if you would like me to send a copy of the page (easiest to your personal e-mail address).

Hope this helps.

Jane

Hi Jane,
How wonderful! I didn't realise it had become a school so soon; (I was was there in the late fifties/early sixties). I would love a copy of the page, please:
Thanks very much for your help.
Cheers, Josephine.
