The modern Land Registry commenced in 1974, but not all counties were included until later dates. The recent thread relates to London which partly includes one of only three counties with much older Registries of Deeds, from the early 18th cent: Middlesex and the North and West Ridings of Yorkshire. Their records are all held by local archive services.
Buckinghamshire Archives probably has local authority rate books which name owners and occupiers.
Also, if individually constructed during that period, a building plan, which names the person who submitted it.
