Rain this morning, but brightened up this afternoon.
No TT racing today, as it's a rest day.

But we did get a visit from the Red Arrows tonight. :D

Where is everyone this week?

Mixed weather,  miserable all day yesterday, not so good today but sun in between.

I managed to get my annuals in no  doubt well drenched  with rain now, no need to water

Locally we have a big fete tomorrow so I am hoping we will at least have a reasonable day

Hope all is well with everyone

The Royal Cornwall Show opened yesterday in heavy rain.  TV coverage showed visitors in wet weather gear, presenters looking wet and bedraggled.  Today is better, with sunshine and strong winds, but thunderstorms are forecast for tomorrow.

We had the women's Tour of Britain cycling race coming through here yesterday and today. A lot of roads were closed locally yesterday and the ones that were open were really busy with people charging around, many of whom probably knew nothing about it in advance. The local press reported nothing about it yesterday and have finally got round to it today, no doubt having picked it up from elsewhere. Very changeable weather for the ladies, some sunshine and a few short but heavy downpours.

The weather was hopeless here today for outdoor sports (I typed adult sports originally) and cycling.

It seems the Red Arrows will be over Cosford this weekend, but I don't get much excitement here.

Thank goodness the aircraft taking off from Birmingham are high up and it is only usually when the take-off wind is in a certain direction at the airport.

I used to teach near Heathrow Airport with planes taking off every few minutes and in certain weather flying straight over our school.  Giving a dictation for O and A level German was hopeless, as I had to stop speaking every time a plane flew over!

On the other hand my mother-in-law lived near the airport on the other side and we very quickly grew so used to the noise from the planes that we barely noticed it!
