I think I have found myself a very complicated family!   

I have a couple Thomas Douglas c1838 & his wife Lucy c1843 with family in Middlesboro from 1891-1911.   By 1921 Lucy is living in Southwark, London.    Can anyone please please help me find them pre 1891.  in 1911 age 70 she states they’ve been married 51yrs, had 8 children of which 4 survive.  I have Thomas, Fred & Emily all born Middlesbro  who was number 4? In fact who were the other 4?

Any help finding them, their marriage or indeed any other little snippets of info will be very gratefully received.

ps. There is a granddaughter Martha Shield age 12  living with Thomas & Lucy in 1891 - wondering if her mother was Ada Douglas who married Richard Shield in 1889?

Oh thank you so much Rosie.   It gets even more confusing in 1921 with Wades & a Japanese connection but I think I’m nearly there sorting that out.
