Hello! I was just wondering if anyone was aware of an Ellen Pulford born 1868 in Bleasby Nottinghamshire. I'm currently researching my grandmother's ancestry and we have completely hit a brick wall in trying to find out who her Grandfather's ( Frank Harold Pulford) father was. It was well known in the family that he was born out of wedlock and his father was unknown, however, we had hoped to track down a few possibilities through looking at the inhabitants at the places she had worked as a domestic servant. After filing through censuses we concluded that the he must have been conceived during her time in Shelford. Now in the place she resided there were three males, a Samuel Barker who was the farmer and two young 17 year old lads, Isaac Fisher and Charles Blundy. Samuel was 31 I believe and single so he seems probably. They also resided next to the vicarage, hence the plot thickens. It was always rumoured within the family to either be the vicar or the stable boy, which finally made sense when we connected the dots. Reverend Edward John Morse was the only one there at the time. Does anyone else have any links to these individuals? Does anyone else recall any family scandals in regards to these people? Please let me know. I do have a picture of Frank Harold Pulford, Ellen's son to use in comparison. It would be useful even to compare to relatives of the individuals i named to identify any resemblances.
