German Papers
Fremdenblatt, 13 Oct 1907

I think it has steamship KFA leaving Buenos Aires 5 Oct, Montivideo 6 Oct and should be expected Madeira 20 Oct &c reaching Hamburg 25 Oct (but certainly open to correction)

He mentions travelling on 2 ships - one sailed from Hamburg to South America, the other from South America to New York.
The Voltaire of the Lamport and Holt line was confined to South American cargo/passenger trade.

He mentions the Fredrick Auguste (crossed out) and the C C Voltaire.
The Voltaire was restricted to the New York - Montivideo route, the Fredrick Auguste sailed Hamburg - South America.
I was looking for sailings that fitted around his declared "18 Oct 1907" - with the Voltaire completing the 2nd leg.

I tried a few different ways on stevemorse.org also and didn't find him.
You said you found the list of ships that arrived from Hamburg in Oct 1907. Did you look at the Kaiserin Auguste Victoria on that list. That might be close enough for someone who wasn't Austrian.

The only other suggestion I have is to narrow down the time frame - when was he last seen in Galicia, when was he first seen in the U.S. - earlier than 1910? If he had children born in the US, when were they born?

Wow, was not expecting such a big response.  Thank you all!

What was his birth year?
He was born and baptized 28 October 1889 in Austria.  He later stated his birthday was 13 Oct 1889 in the US.

I tried a few different ways on stevemorse.org also and didn't find him.

I haven't looked through any microfilms yet.  I've done index searches and come up empty.  Was hoping to narrow down the ship before I take a look.  I'll take a look at that one!

I have only found his baptism record in 1889 in Galicia.

The first record I have in the US is his 23 August 1909 marriage in Lansford, PA.  His first child was born 19 June 1910, and last child born 1 July 1917.  He died 25 Oct 1918 (spanish flu)
