I've been thinking all day that it's Sunday, I'm always like that on bank holidays. I'll be having to remind myself all week as to what day it is, got a few things going on this week.
I have just had a few days away from home and there were permanent Christmas shops in York and Stratford on Avon, I did not go in either
I have that trouble too Roobarb, if something is different, I can even get my days mixed up for that week.
When that Xmas time of the year comes, with all the illness going about, I just want to make it to see the Spring!
I am not too old either, but I can't indulge in the sweet delicacies on offer due to my health, despite the memory of loving the taste of chocolate, fudges, etc.
It is do or die now, follow an extra healthy eating plan (to try and stimulate regeneration or even a hold) after my 2020 illness, or possibly have uncontrolled inflammation again, which won't end well, or sets me back.
Linking Jesus birth, with Christmas along with its customs, traditions and festivities where some are either based on traditions from various countries around the World or have pagan origins (it is well documented by secular historians that many have crept in since), to me personally is highly disrespectful of Jesus.
The Oxford Companion seems to mention the Three Visitors or 'Wise Men' “
The connection between magic and astrology is reflected in the visitors’ fascination with the star that had led them to Bethlehem.”
Personally, I won't touch that form of magi (magus, Latin), magic, nor occult magic at all, nor have anything to do with that ouija board, or creepy stuff.
Giving gifts can be done all year round.
When there are poor and hunger in cold homes and on our pavements all year round, I find the commercialism leading up to X-mas time awful.
