Good morning folks
Unbelievable  we are now on to June  diary, half way to Christmas!!, well almost.

It still is quite chilly  in the mornings and evenings but warms up during  the day

Our church has now formed a new fund raising  committee after years of having one leader who for the last 2 years hasn't had her heart in it, things are looking up already,  it is difficult to fund raise for anything now  but we do need some work done on our very old church,  almost  1000 years old.

Hope everyone is enjoying  the Bank Holiday weekend

Oh please don't mention Christmas LM! It's bad enough having things in the shops from late August without thinking about it in May! Sorry, I'm afraid that's just a gripe of mine.

Was really blustery here yesterday although quite sunny, it's windy again today. There's been a music event on the beach for the three days of the weekend, I think people must have been getting sand blasted! Lots of photos in the local press, they seem to have been enjoying themselves anyway.

Oopps!, sorry but I start collecting for my Christmas bazaar  about now, I managed to get  little boys cars half price  for my tombola on Saturday but now the new committee is in place I might be asked to do it in the summer fete, so I will have to get my skates on.

Must be honest it does annoy me seeing Christmas things for sale in   September.

Good that you can get some bargains LM, I don't blame people for buying ahead, it's just the commercial racket that it's being turned into that bugs me.

Hope your fund raising goes well  :)

You are right, Easter is the same.

I tried to buy a table at another summer fete for our church,  it was £20 for the table and £8 insurance and it seems you can't sell what you want to sell,  what they suggested I probably wouldn't make much money,  I might as well donate  the £28  to the church, I was prepared to stump up that amount out of my pocket but to spend a day if my time to earn little for the church I gave up on the idea.

It is quite dull today and I have my bed linen  out, whilst it was breezy very early the wind has dropped.

Enjoy your day

I have just had a few days away from home and there were permanent Christmas shops in York and Stratford on Avon, I did not go in either  :)

There is no “ magic “in it anymore , but the rarity of presents and new toys  during the year did make Christmas very special ,mind you a new dressing gown and cosy slippers were a very good presents we thought —- children get new toys as a matter of habit it seems nowadays  - eg when in the supermarket for no reason at all.
 Except their amazing mithering skills!

A very dull drizzly day here ,so am doing some Spring cleaning , nothing too heavy ,doors washed down, paint work etc .
It is not a dirty house, but my son comes in for his tea after perhaps working in his house  for an hour or two, well I wish he would wash his hands there!
But no he comes here and washes them, touching doors etc on his way in and the white paint shows up every little mark ,I will have to smack his legs!

At least the gardens are having some refreshment ,the hot sun was a bit too much for young plants .

I had forgotten it was a bank holiday today ,the days and weeks  all run in to one another, not much to mark things except hospital appointments .

Look after yourselves folks ,best wishes for some improvement to those with long term conditions and indeed anyone  not well.
Cheerio, Viktoria.

It wasn't till lunchtime  that my husband realised it was Bank Holiday ,  he couldn't get through to the surgery, I think once we reach  retirement  age bank holidays just slip by,  I'm sure Viktoria  you are not the first one.

That would be fun to slap your son's legs Viktoria,  he will be ringing childline!!

Been a strange weather day,  it is now very dull with grey skies.

I still have  my  bizzie lizzies  to put out but it hasn't been nice  enough,  tomorrow is another day.

Enjoy your day folks

I've been thinking all day that it's Sunday, I'm always like that on bank holidays. I'll be having to remind myself all week as to what day it is, got a few things going on this week.

I have just had a few days away from home and there were permanent Christmas shops in York and Stratford on Avon, I did not go in either  :)

Rosie, I don't remember seeing a Christmas shop in York but if I spot it next time I'm there I'll be sure to avoid it! I don't recall the one in Stratford either but it's a long time since I was there.

LM, I've already put some busy lizzies in a large pot at the front of my house,  North facing and quite a bit further North than you so I'm sure yours will be fine when you do get to plant them.  :)
