Have you considered for £3 the digital image of his gro birth cert to establish an exact dob. Might appear in 1939 war register.

He may also have gone abroad but rather a common name to search for  :-\

Have you checked for a death in the area he was last seen?  Ages will be given to check with his and again having his exact DOB is a good idea.

I notice that on the 1901 census he is recorded as John Thomas JONES (not Hughes). I appears William Henry Hughes and Margaret did not marry until MQ 1897 St Asaph. Based on this his birth is possibly as below. He may have in later life reverted to the surname Jones as apposed to Hughes.

SS

JONES, JOHN  THOMAS     -  No MMN
GRO Reference: 1894  J Quarter in SAINT ASAPH  Volume 11B  Page 324

sister

HUGHES, HANNAH  ELLEN     mmn JONES
GRO Reference: 1897  D Quarter in ST ASAPH  Volume 11B  Page 295

address on baptism matches 1901 census

John Thomas Jones exact dob 26th April 1894.

For the back burner.

Marriages Dec 1919

Hughes    John T    Williams    Wrexham    11b   639
Williams    Mary    Hughes    Wrexham    11b   639

1920 son born
Hughes    Ceirlog    mmn Williams    Wrexham    11b   470

This son appears with surname Hughes-Jones in 1939 war register.
