Gaelic football in Birkenhead in 1930s, 40s & 50s
« on: Friday 23 May 25 04:25 BST (UK) »
Perhaps someone can assist me on this topic: How likely was it that a boy who grew up in Birkenhead in the 1930s, 40s & 50s and born of Irish immigrant parents was involved in the sport of Gaelic football? Would he have been equally versed in Gaelic and English football by the time he was 20?

If you search for GAA, Lancashire (I know it is not Birkenhead) there is a long history of GAA in Liverpool - https://www.johnmitchelsliverpool.com/about.
If he was so keen, he may well have travelled there.
