I saw 'Geoff Duke' through squinted eyes, he was winning races before I was even born.

When I was young we used to stay at the Golf Links Hotel in Port Erin, now demolished, I hear.
 https://historicengland.org.uk/images-books/photos/item/WSA01/01/E0492  We would take the boat from Liverpool to Douglas or later the plane from Blackpool.  There were always lots of youngsters in the hotel with their families and we would walk to Port St Mary for square dancing, which was led by a woman called "Diamond Lil".  Happy memories, especially as I had my first kiss there! :o
