Had a rant in my bank this week!

Because I don't live in UK, every couple of years I get a form from DWP that has to be witnessed and signed by "a person of standing in the community". The list includes Banking Officials
Took the form (Life Certificate) into my bank, only to be informed "We aren't allowed to sign forms"!!

What use is a bank branch? I am a customer, and want some customer service.

So I told them what I was thinking, and stormed out. Bankers? should be spelled with a W ;D

My best mate is a retired accountant, so he signed the form. Accountants are OK, it seems :D

Got a CT Scan booked for next week. During TT Practice week; but all practice sessions are scheduled for evenings, so should be OK.

If I was in charge (and thank goodness I am not  ;D ) I would have made a Law that any plastic item sold in the UK was made of recyclable material.

If that was the case, the problem now would be ... one council will take a particular one and another council won't take that one.

So I cannot see an easy resolution.

Regarding the numbered symbols on items, some are so small, they are difficult to see.

But I have found this chart ...

Lunch at the Golf club and "lovely cheese and onion pie"

You enjoy it Viktoria and have a safe journey too.

Jebber, our church has a knit and natter group and a sewing  group, is it  possible to ask around for someone who will take your materials,  shame to not use them.

Yes LM, I shall persevere until I find someone who will use the fabrics I won't let them go to waste.

Only recently I was reading how dressmaking was a popular hobby again, so I will see what evening classes there are locally when the autumn prospectus come out.

I find it hard to throw stuff away,  did a lot when I drastically downsized, but not a day goes by when I don’t regret throwing it away.
I too must do a big tidy up of stuff, I want to leave all neat and organised when I pop my clogs!

I am being ruthless with clothes,I can do alterations but sometimes the style etc makes it not feasible .
I have best clothes, everyday clothes and old clothes for when I do mucky jobs - decorating etc but not much of that nowadays .

Just watered the garden , the hosepipe is not quite long enough to go from the stop tap to the front garden ,I have a second one but the junction point  leaks.so I fill ,well half fill the watering  can ,I can carry that to the front garden via the side lane ,it is not far.
Well a few rollers in the front of my hair which needs cutting - up early and I am looking forward to seeing my sister in law and niece.
We will go to the cemetery where my husband’s parents are - I owe it to
them and also do it for my husband ,they were very good to me.
So night night , hope people feel better.

Well up early in the morning ,eldest son will pick me up about 9-30

Viktoria.

The Isle of Man, Tourist Trophy, racing is almost upon us.

When I started going to the Isle of Man about 1979, Mike Hailwood had recently won a race there and we saw a Honda of Hailwood's at Murrays Museum, then on Snaefell.

A few years later Mike took his children down the fish & chip, his daughter and Mike died due to a tragic crash. His son survived. Mike Hailwood was known as 'Mike the Bike'.

Not sure if this fits the parameters for this Chat page. I have been doing some clearing and tidying in the study and came across this song from the School Hymnal of the Methodist Church. I can remember singing this in the infants school many years ago. It would be interesting to know if it is still sung, but probably now so far out of date. Perhaps rather too twee for today's children!

There's nothing wrong with being mediocre...as long as you're good at it!
