Well,what a change this morning, damp,dark and cold !
Brightened up now.

Yet again some official papers, not for me were brought to my door by someone who looked “ very official” —— I offered to show by my passport that I was in this country without leaving it from returning from my Spanish holiday in 2017 or 18, so here the date on the papers and my name different too -
The deliverer was in a uniform , but I could not see what he was representing.

Anyway he went off to the most likely address ,there have been several names mentioned ,not all the same so what us going in I am not sure.

Bright sunshine now ,so hopefully warmer.

A puzzle has been solved—- recently there has been a big increase in heavy traffic using the unadopted lane running along my house and back garden .
I asked one driver why was he attempting to drive a very big vehicle along a narrow private lane.
He said it was on his sat nav!
It is causing havoc with the natural surface and  again another water main has burst . My son looked and sure enough it is shown as a proper road.
I am not sure who could get that undone.
One of these days life will be without unnecessary problems!
Hope those who are and who have been unwell feel much better.

Cheerio.Viktoria.

Hi

Viktoria do Not sign anything at the door, whether they look official or not.

The only thing I ever sign for is my own expected post from Post Office or Royal Mail.

Yes LM, foot tapping to Tina Turner, rump steak with new potatoes and fresh veg, for dinner.

Yes, weather is going hot and cold, my heating has been coming on in the morning and on some days.

I had some minor eye pain coming and disappearing, rang Doctor and given the local NHS Primary Eye Care number and rang up. I have an appointment with an Optician.

My eye pain seems to clear at times.

My sister (who had all the jabs ) had awfully painful eye pain, which eventually seemed to clear.

But as a precaution, I will see my Optician.

About 8 - 10 years ago, Mrs P took me to a large book dealer and they were holding a Map Exhibition and I acquired this late 17th Century map, of Saxonica Brittania.

Warwickshire, seems to be part of Leicestershire.

Thanks for that, I was not asked to sign anything, but the papers were not in an envelope ,the chap showed them to me,my name not on them ,I offered to show my passport and explained this was happening quite often and whilst not worried it was a puzzle and as there were legal documents from France a year or so ago re a traffic accident ,  I told him, that was quite disconcerting.
I had not been in France for years .

Sunny this afternoon but mild .

Hope all are alright, I know quite a few have problems and health issues but it is how able we  are to cope isn’t it that matters.
That is not a criticism , not everyone is able despite real efforts to do so.
It often depends on our general well being ,which if through ill health that is low well it is a lot harder to cope.

I need another iron infusion ,hopefully I will be less tired then.
No date set as yet.

Gosh aren’t the weeks flying by - midsummer not far off —— downhill all the way after that!
Better start my Christmas cards!

Cheerio, look after yourselves .Viktoria.

Hi Viktoria and All

If the papers were not for you, please don't give them your name, nor show them your identity.

That is how they gather information about people, because the front door caller already has your address.

We don't drive now and know their 'accident' claim is false, I politely put the 'phone down, or would say you have the wrong house and close my front door.

We have to  be very security conscious , I check any parcels for my name or my daughter's before accepting.

It's not a problem here.
Under Manx Law, cold calling is illegal ;D
Whether by phone or a knock at the door.

Even Mormons, Jehova's Witnesses and so forth have to comply, as preaching in the street is also barred.

A few years ago a packet was put through my letterbox, it had a French stamp on it ,my name was not visible in the transparent window but my address was.
It was a summons to attend court ,in France re a road traffic accident ,lots  of names listed - well I had not been in France for donkey’s years ,recognised no names so took it to the P.O and explained it was nothing to do with me.
Since when there have been a few more so I take them to the P.O.or hand them back to the postie the next day ,but this was a personal visit ,the chap rang the bell, my daughter said last night if he was in black clothing with a logo it was very likely a bailiff ,———
The names on the envelopes are not always the same though, but yesterday
there was no envelope ,,the chap had two piles in his hands and showed me the name so as daughter said it could have been someone serving a writ .
Oh I don’t know his I stand all the excitement!
Not sure he ought to have shown me the name but he would be trying to prove the documents were for this address ,had my number on them after all so it was reasonable that he believed they were for me.
I of course said “ that is not me, I am ——- do you want to see my passport?”
I explained  there had been quite a few over the years and despite me leaving a note in the letterbox when I took some to house with the most likely number ,to get it sorted it hasn’t been obviously .
Hey ho, as long as they don’t come to take my piano away ——-
( sadly haven’t got one now,a huge German overstrung piano would look very odd in this little modernised house but  :'(

Sunny but coo, washing in the line and need to shop for a few things for my sister in law and neice ,we are visiting tomorrow ,eldest son in to head office near where they live.
They haven’t git their Christmas presents yet ! Both have birthdays one was 30 th April and one 6 th  May  so lots of parcels to unwrap .

Well must get on.
Look after yourselves .
Viktoria.
