William Colhoun Born 1777
« on: Monday 19 May 25 07:52 BST (UK) »
 Hello Troops,
Looking for the ancestors of William Colhoun. He married into the Findrum McClure family.
Catherine McClure.b.1774Letterkenny.d.29.12.1847.Green Cottage.Labbadish. mc.1797.Donegal.William Colhoun .b.1777.[Labbadish?]d.10.4.1823.Green Cottage,Labbadish. BuriedKilmacrennan.[FAG].
Plenty of information on lots of Colhoun, Calhoun, Colquoun in Counties Donegal and Tyrone.
But after giving the search button a pounding on this and other sites all i have found is
unknown Colhoun .b.1742   .

Any clues - Aghadowey or kiltaglassen?

Cheers
Jack.

PS - Labberdish is just next to Corke[Corkough] and several earlier threads indicate the Colhouns have an affinity for the area. But no obvious links between William and the earlier threads.

Thanks Rathmore,
Findrum is the townland.
the website is a winner.
Got all the McClure threads.
The big drill down on the Colhouns has not been on my radar until recently.
Will have another look.

Cheers
Jack.

Thanks Rathmore,
the people i am looking for pre date the official records. Maybe i'l get lucky with church records but nothing yet. Also the name William Colhoun seems to be pretty common around co. Donegal pre 1800.

cheers
Jack.

Hi Rathmore,
No.
The site belongs to Brian Anton.
I helped him with the McClure side of the Colhoun genealogy.
His research in this blog slotted perfectly into the Findrum McClure pedigree.

Cheers
Jack
