Possible second marriage - brick wall
« on: Friday 16 May 25 10:21 BST (UK) »
My great-grandfather, Johann Chilla (or Chyla / Chylla) was born in 1844 in or around Milewo / Nowe in Poland.

His parents were Antoni Chilla and Anna Litza.

I have a dna match to a lady, who thinks that our connection is through Antoni Chilla, but she has him married to Marianna Polea, and we wonder if Antoni married more than once.

This lady descends from a daughter of Antoni and Marianna, named Faustyna.

We would both love to find our connection, and we will be very grateful for any help.

What records do you/her have currently? Birth, marriage, death for each of the possible children?

What religion did this family follow?

I don't personally have any records, perhaps the lady to whom I have a dna match.
The family were Catholic.

I was just hoping that perhaps my great-grandfather, Johann Chilla, and this ladies ancestor, Faustyna were maybe step-brother and sister.

Maybe it's just too complicated.

Well then, you need some more records.  It's not complicated, it's just we need to know what you have to know what to look for.  And because these will be church records, you need to know

Presumably you have some records for  Johann, else where did you get his parents' name from?

I can see a baptism (Catholic) in Nowe for probably siblings:

1847 - Caecilia Chilla parents Anton Chilla and Ann Lica

1850 - Leocadia, father Anton Chylla mother listed as "Litza"
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:6ZQG-8WCQ?lang=en

Another in 1852, Marianna with parents Anton and mother "Lica"
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:6ZQP-CC71?lang=en

You would need to go through the LDS to get the original images.

Wow ! Those possibilities are definitely worth researching further.

As to my great-grandfather, Johann Chilla. I have his death certificate for 06 October 1874, in Milewo.
I also have his marriage certificate for 30 October 1864 to Augusta Merker. My grandfather, Franciszek Chilla was born two months later  ::) in Milewo.

There are a few online films for the “Kościół rzymsko-katolicki. Parafja Nowe (Świecie)”

I’m wondering whether the following might be the 1843 baptism of your Johann, son of Anton “Chila” and Anna “Licowna”:
