Which person exactly are you descended from who you think Henry John Atkinson and Emma are the parents of?

Is it Ernest Alfred by any chance?

The 1881 census is the only one with any evidence of a child

Ernest A age 7 son

Perhaps they adopted him as 1911 census clearly states no children born and I don’t see a birth registration for him to check his mother was Hamilton

I wonder if Alfred E Hall 17 down as nephew in 1891 is the same person as Ernest A in 1881?

Ernest Alfred Hall born Dec 1873 Caistor does have mothers name Hamilton so could be a genuine nephew

The plot thickens as in 1921 there is a grandson age 21 called Alfred William Henry Atkinson

"I believe that they would be my 2x great grand parents on my mothers paternal side"

Whose origins are you researching...the great grand parent on your mother's side?

What is the earliest sighting of this great grandparent?.....name on a marriage record?...name as parent on a birth record?.
