Deptford St Nicholas and St Paul [Completed]
« on: Yesterday at 04:55 »
Hi,

This has no doubt been asked before, but.....

Is there a way to view the parish registers for the above churches? There is a record of a marriage between Andrew Bone and Alice Walton on the 4th July 1796 at St Nicholas. The next entries are for births and deaths from 1802.

I have checked the Kent FHS site and their CD appears to have only 9 marriages for both St Nicholas and St Paul. This seems to suggest that the registers are likely to have been damaged and only a few entries are sufficiently legible to be transcribed.

Would this be a correct assumption?

The St Nicholas Deptford PRs are in the London collection on Ancestry, with images.

You need to look under
London, England, Church of England Marriages and Banns, 1754-1940
Borough of Greenwich > St Nicholas, Deptford: Deptford Green > 1784-1812.

The saint part is spelt Saint in one lot and St in another. You want the ones with St.
