Gillg, we have Surfers against Sewage around here, although from your map it doesn't appear that they'll be taking part in the protest. It's ridiculous that they should have to take such actions in a supposedly civilised and hygienic country.
We were promised where I lived 50 years ago that the River would be cleaned up.
Water bill is nearly £900 a year and it is an absolute disgrace, what is happening to our rivers and sea.
On the Midlands news a few months ago, the Water company, rather than improve the treatment of sewer water and the river being so bad, they were asking permission to extend the pipeline further to another cleaner river and discharge there.
It is an absolute disgrace, having an assurance that the river will become cleaner as a young teenager and 50 years later, the problem seems to be much worse!
Water companies that do this, are an absolute shambles and an utter disgrace!
