Well, another successful hospital visit :D
2 bladder stones removed.
The only problem was the spinal anaesthetic (like an epidural), which hadn't completely worn off by the time that the Day Procedures Ward closed!
So they had to find me a bed for the night.

But home now.

You do sound to be coping with many problems in a very stoic way, KGarrad. Hope you are feeling better.

I was out in the middle of the local field today with a friend and her dog when two large helicopters came flying towards us, heading towards town and flying low. I looked at the time, 12.01, they were obviously part of the VE day celebrations. I had a huge lump in my throat, things like that always make me feel emotional.

K.G., I hope you are continuing to recover.

I hope everyone else, is keeping well, or making improvement.

 --------------

The first war I recall being reported on the news, was toward the latter years of the Vietnam War.

 --------------
This came through on an f m p email

Titled with one of my family surnames and I knew exactly who in my family, the generated piece refers to ...

Edward H. served in Air Raid Precautions, helping to protect neighbours during bombing raids – guiding people to safety, enforcing blackouts and assisting in emergencies on the home front. From blackouts to gas masks, discover the extraordinary story of Air Raid Precautions.

Also my Grandfather's Brother-in-Law was on night shift at 'The Humber' Factory as it was known, on the night of the 1940 Blitz when Coventry and the Coventry and Warwickshire Hospital were bombed. Word went around calling for volunteers, to rescue the injured, recover the dead to London Road Cemetery and assist the Fire Brigade, Ambulance and Services.

My late Great Aunt had heard bomber aircraft in the dark, saw the orange red sky 9 miles away and when Tom didn't come home for breakfast told me she was worried sick and even more so when the Police Motorcycle stopped at the gate, Mrs S, your husband .... has asked me to send you a message, he has volunteered to help and will be late home, I have got to go, Goodbye.

Very surprised today.

We've received a reminder to have the latest Covid jab from NHS.  Having had all previous jabs, I decided to find where we could get this one.  NHS website gave me a list of pharmacies offering the new jab on a walk-in basis.  I tried the most local, but was told that we have to complete an on-line form.  Looked again and found another pharmacy in the area offering walk-in.  Went down there this afternoon, and was quite amazed to find that we were NOT the only couple taking advantage of this.  I was pleased to see this response.  Now back home and carrying on as normal - hopefully!

All the best BumbleB.

Homemade, Cheese & Onion Quiche with a sprinkling of Cinnamon, finished the other day  :P so none left  :P

There are certain persons and persons with certain conditions that should not eat these leaves according to the internet.

The stem should not be eaten.

I didn't feel quite so good last few days, still have taste & smell ok, no cold, but heady and not feeling myself.

Tried, a Taraxacum (Dandelion) Leaf Salad this evening, with an Apple, Tomato & Extra Mature Cheddar Cheese, with Taraxacum tea.

My Grandfather used to wash and eat dandelion leaves, like lettuce and I had found this article earlier
