I would be grateful if someone who visits the Somerset Heritage Centre can kindly assist me by checking a record that is held there on microfiche.
The details are:
Ref. No. D/D/cd/20 - Diocese of Bath & Wells - Deposition Books 1584-1585 (The catalogue says "available on microfiche")
Page 39-40, which is supposed to be "Robert Owen versus William Philppes, case of libel"
The catalogue makes reference to a witness: William Godwyn of Wells St Cuthbert, aged about 35. I am keen to learn of any other information that may be recorded about Godwyn (and so I can decide if it is worth me paying £20, at least, for a copy of the pages).
