Commonwealth War Graves Commission are appealing for blood relatives of Aircraftman 2 nd Class Herbert Amoore - Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve - Service no:- 1330641 - died 23/1/1942 - buried Hendon Cemetery and Crematorium.


Son of Herbert and Amelia Amoore of Cricklewood

Killed in Anson N5324, on a map reading exercise from RAF Staverton.

Struck high tension power cables at Rodley, Gloucestershire and crashed into the River Severn

All the crew were killed:

Sgt Pilot, 1270838 Philip Pantoock
LAC, 656298, Robert Stuart Palmer
LAC, 1336457, Reginald Walter Banks

The Commission proposes reverting the commemoration for Aircraftman 2 nd Class from the screen wall to his grave.
