Gosh - born in 1909 and still alive!
At 115 years old (plus 253 days), a British woman has become the oldest person in the world.

1909 Ethel May Collins born in Shipton Bellinger (R.D. Andover)
1933 Ethel M Collins married Norman Caterham
1976 Norman Caterham died

And it is good to read that dear Ethel seems to have had an interesting life:

My mother in law lived to be 105.
Such a poor family ,not in love and discipline but material things like food!

She out argued a Jehovah’s Witness  who called at the door.
They begged to be let out !
She knew The Bible through and through .
A very kind gentle woman but ruled her  children with a  rod of iron.
They did well .
Were all good parents themselves .

2 world wars, 24 English prime ministers, 2 pandemics, the Hollywood Golden Age (start to finish), the invention of the modern computer & the world-wide web… not to mention all the medical advances! Absolutely incredible.
England: Clark (Cumberland), Davies (Shropshire), Grey (Northumberland), Hetherington (Northumberland), Hoverd (Oxfordshire), McKnight (Cumberland), McPherson (Northumberland), Robinson (Northumberland)
Scotland: Horn (Midlothian, 1600s)

I saw this in our Australian news (ABC) - love her secret about longevity "never arguing with anyone. I listen and I do what I like!"
