I'm stumped as too Arthur Brooke. Did he or didn't he have a middle name? There seems to be a slew of Arthur Brooke's born ant 1881 in or nearby Dewsbury.  How to distinguish the difference.  Ancestry shows so many choices.

As suggested if you get the marriage certificate to Elsie it will have more info on Arthur to help find the correct chap.

Problem with Amy Kershaw is there is another one born 1910 with parents in Rochdale so could be her in 1939  :-\.

If you look at Arthur's birthdate in 1939, it narrows down his registration to a single quarter (assuming he stated dob accurately and his parents didn't register him after the 42 day limit). There is only one who fits on GRO and he is in Dewsbury. MMN Tolson

There are three Amy's registered Q2 1910 (fitting with age on 1921 census), but only one in Pontefract which is the reg district covering Featherstone. MMN Wood.

Joe Kershaw and Carrie Wood appear on same page on index - Q4 1901 Dewsbury. (I was wrong assuming they abbreviated their forenames on census form  ;D)

Regarding the mention of the Amy KERSHAW in 1939, is anyone able to clarify whether she was a patient or a worker?

I am supposing  it say patient if she was, but I am not certain.

One Amy Kershaw married Roland Dawson in Dewsbury district in 1932
They can be found on 1939 register in Dewsbury. Her dob is consistent with a birth in Q2 1910

Another AK married Alfred Licence in Dewsbury RD in 1933, but her birth is in 1905 ( from 1939 register)
