Diary summary week ending 4th May
« on: Monday 28 April 25 19:16 BST (UK) »
Can't believe we're nearly into May, the time goes round so quickly.

The weather here has significantly warmed up and it's a great forecast for the rest of the week.  :)
The large field near to my house is usually a pleasant place to walk but for the last few days it's been plagued with horrible black flies. They're not the tiny ones that sometimes appear in hot weather, these are bigger and seem to be in pockets around the field. No idea why they've appeared, the only thing that's any difference is that there are large numbers of dandelions in flower, but I can't say I've noticed a fly problem previously when they're in bloom. Just hope the flies disappear soon, just the thought of them makes me itch!

No takers so far Roobarb!!

I did the church fayre on Saturday, was asked to help but then I discovered  I was in charge   went reasonably  well till lock  up time, then there was an unpleasant situation about keys, really knocked the icing off the cake , Sunday I was given a clap in church, I said I could not  except all the praise,  it was teamwork  and a  jolly good one at that, took about £280 more than usual,  so the person who normally runs everything  said it is now my job, I wanted this to be asuccess for my benefit and I did say not good enough  so that I get the job for good . I now feel the person will resign from the fund raising  committee , wrong way to have gone about it, we have an AGM soon, time will tell.

It has been a beautiful day today but I haven't felt very well for some reason but I am better tonight,  thank goodness.

Tomorrow  is another day and I hope to be meeting a friend

Hope all is well with everyone .

Sorry you have not felt well L.M.
Perhaps the little upset  has upset you ,after a hard day .
I have got a bit more fragile aboutvthese things as timer has gone on.

Well waiting for my Tesco order, notified of a delay but would be  here by
10  - 50 but already just past eleven O’ clock and fridge and freezer stuff to put away when it comes.

A lovely day here and more good weather to come this week.
Son off to head office tomorrow, never knows how long he will be away .

Just taking my last but one lot of tablets ,one more and eye drops when up to bed.

Hope you all enjoy some of the forecast good weather ,it does help to buck us up .
Look after yourselves .

Roobarb, you mention the large number of dandelions around and there certainly are huge numbers of them everywhere at the moment.  I won't tolerate them in my garden, however, and have had lots of advice about how to kill them.  I pull off all the flower heads before they go to seed, but also treat them with a mixture of white vinegar, washing up liquid and salt, which certainly is effective.  My husband says they will be come back, as they are not so easy to get rid of, so I'm keeping a close watch on them.
Off to a charity coffee (and cake, of course) morning now.  I expect some of us will  be sitting outside, as the weather is so exceptionally lovely.  My washing is already on the line and will be ready to iron when I get back.
Enjoy the day, everyone.   :)

Alright for some!
Here, the temperature is just 13C. Not warm enough to sit out yet.

Afternoon all
LM. Church politics are always tricky!
Have painted some fencing today and cut some grass. Will do the rest tomorrow. Used to be able to do lots in one go, but now I need to pace myself .

Well another scorching day,too hot really to work outside but lovely .

Son off to head office, don’t envy him in car in this weather.

Must water plants tonight .
Had my main meal at lunchtime so a snack at tea time, can’t eat two big meals a day .

Tesco in a muddle with deliveries yesterday , late evening that was cancelled and they would come later.
No notification that had also been cancelled,so I waited to the small hours  but then went to bed ,about five O ‘ clock an email had come that  it would be here this evening between 9&10.apologies too!

My little seedlings are coming on well.
Need to alter my herb patch a bit so more room to manoeuvre the flipping motability scooter when. the muddle is finally sorted out.

I am sorry I even started that ,I could have millions  of taxies for what it has cost me!

Well ,hope all are alright ,given some ill Heath and difficult conditions .
Cheerio.
Viktoria.

Gillg, I get dandelions in my garden too, I also pull the heads off before they go to seed. There aren't that many and are usually in the lawn, if I can manage to get them out with a trowel I do, otherwise I leave them to the mercy of the lawnmower.  :)
I was busy kicking the heads off the dandelion clocks on the field today, before the wind gets chance to blow them over to my garden.
As for the flies, I read rather a lot of comments locally, seems they've been everywhere across the town including on the beach. Didn't come across many today so am hoping they've gone.
Forecast here is 25° on Thursday, then dropping ten degrees by Friday! It's so odd.

Viktoria, your grocery delivery is very late in the day, could you not book an earlier slot?

I don’t mind usually but this time there was a problem when on its way ,then a cancellation ,then notification it would be late but was on its way ——so I waited up but it has arrived ,now, about  8- 30 .

I usually find a slightly cheaper spot ,and always make sure I have bought goods to £50  otherwise on top of delivery charge there is pick and pack too so about £8 on top of your goods.

An absolutely lovely day ,like midsummer.
Plants needed watering this evening .

No phone call from Quingo , much to my surprise - my daughter said when they phone ,ask if they will speak to her ,because it us really stressing me .
She supplies dangerous vehicles ,ie high powered motor cycles.
She was shocked that my test run was not on a Vitess2 ,but the Plus, a much easier and less complicated vehicle ,I did not know that until the second visit after my new one stalled at a kerb .
It turns out I did not test ride a Vitess2 ,but a Plus ——
That is my strong argument that I was mis -sold.I stand to lose £2000 even buying another of Quingo’s models .
Mine has 0.6 of a mile on it ,so hardly used.
Just a couple of test runs down the road ,the second when it refused a kerb !
It will get sorted.
Hope all are O.K.knowing that nany are not well etc.
I wish you all better health and some comfort.
Cheerio.
Viktoria.
