Family name Scott 1850s
« on: Monday 28 April 25 12:00 BST (UK) »
I have a marriage - James Scott to Johanna Phelan on January 1858, Fethard, Tipperary.
They had a child - Mary born about 1861 - I think she was also known as Josephine.

Josephine (or Mary) married Peter Kelly prior to 1887, not sure what county they were married in, probably Tipperary.   Peter, son of John and Elizabeth (Corcran) Kelly was from Bangher, Kings Co.

Any help regarding the James and Johanna (Phelan) Scott line in Tipperary would be most appreciated.

Thank You.    Jack

Hi Ciderdrinker

I know now where it all went wrong.   The townland name Banagher we thought it was Co. Offaly but now we can see that there was a town in Galway 'Banagher' that was where the mix up was.
Many thanks.  Jack

Banagher is a townland in Co Galway.

No town called Banagher in Co Galway.

The town of Banagher is on the western edge of Co Offaly.
