Exact dates

Hi all

My mother has just been to visit her parents and sisters grave site in syston. Long story short....she wondered about the exact dates her sister was born and died. Headstone says died at 17 months old.

Is there a quicker way to find this info out or do we need to order the certificates. I have found out using freebmd that she was born in Sept qtr 1949 and died in March qtr 1951.

Any help would be much appreciated.

If you decide to get the documents from the GRO, you can get the death record as a pdf costing £8. Death records up to 1957 are usually available for £3 as digital images but not this one. The birth record is only available as a certificate costing £12.50

Before you go to expense I can look up local prs in loughborough library..tomorrow. not sure what date they go up to.

Thank you for your replies to my post. Turns out my mums older sister actually has the birth certificate and Linda was born 27th August 1949 and died 28th January 1951.
