William Henry Polkinghorn(e)
« on: Tuesday 22 April 25 18:37 BST (UK) »
Hi everyone, I’m after some help because I’ve hit a brick wall! I’m looking for a burial for a William Henry Polkinghorn sometimes spelt Polkinghorne. He was born in 1856 Chase Water, Cornwall, England and died in 1916 Auckland, Durham, England according to his death certificate. Address at time of death was 9 Whitwell Terrace, St. Helens Auckland, age 58. His death was registered at Auckland, Bishop Auckland Sub-district, on 28 January 1916. Everything is documented, the only thing I’m missing is his final resting place. I’m doing this research for an acquaintance who lives in Canada and she’s trying to find the final part of a puzzle as the family would like celebrate 100 years of her family emigrating to Canada later this year. He was survived by his wife Hannah Polkinghorne nee Baker who died in 1926. It would be wonderful if someone can come up with a final resting place for William. Kind regards Paul

Did his wife die in the same area?  They could be buried together if her burial is easier to find.

Local newspapers might have a notice in them.
Hinchliffe - Huddersfield Wiltshire
Burroughs - Arlingham Glos
Pick - Frocester Glos

Hi, his wife was buried in a close by cemetery. I am awaiting a reply from the local vicar to see what she says. The burial records for that cemetery don’t show a burial for William. I’ll have a look at local newspapers to see if I can find anything.
Cheers
Paul
