I think her DOB is definitely 1871 as she was mentioned in the 1871 Census, age 0, along with her parents (Thomas and Ruth) and siblings (Robert and John Henry), at Pinchbeck, Lincolnshire.

The 1871 Census was carried out on 2 April and she was christened on 27 May 1871.

I think this is probably another person.

Mary Ann Smith (nee Tabor) was living with her daughter Florence May and son-in-law Bertie Cooper in 1939 and was a widow, as Steven C posted above.

That means George W Smith died before or in 1939.

We need to find George W and Mary Ann Smith in the 1921 Census (not the one that Steve C thought it was them, with George W Smith Jn). All her living children were already married except for Florence May who married late that year (December), and Aflred Ernest, who was living with the Dunkling family in 1921.That's why I was trying to find her in the 1921 census as Florence May Parfrey,

Many thanks PatLac and Cas for your replies, you have both been very busy on my behalf and I am very grateful  ;D

I am fairly happy going with date of birth 1871 because of the christening record. I did try to order a digital death certificate for Mary Ann Smith, unfortunately a digital version is not available at present only a certificate ( see screenshot ).

Steve
Banbury and Hall families from Leicester 1850 to 1950.

Parfery or Parfrey family from Norfolk or Cambs 1800 to 1900.

That's a pity. Maybe we could try to find burial/creamation records?

Do you know George W. Smith full name, I'm assuming it's George William? And his date and place of birth?

I mentioned son Albert in 1939, who has Stanley Smith living in his household. Who is also with this family in 1921

This is the 1921 info for Mary Ann Smith living Cambridgeshire with husband George William Smith

Name   Mary Ann Smith
Gender   Female
Marital Status   Married
Age   49 Years 4 Months
Relation to Head   Wife
Estimated Birth Year   1872
Birth Place   Lincoln, Lincolnshire, England
Residence Date   1921

The 1911 has different details for wife Mary Ann bc 1888, nee Bays

So George William Smith died between 1921 - 1939

Yes, I just thought this wouldn't help us with Mary Ann's DOD, but that's very possible.

Thanks for the 1921 info, where have you found it? No mention of Florence May Parfrey? George's DOB?

If Mary Ann's estimated age is right, she was born in February 1871.
