Well, this is certainly dandelion time!  They are everywhere, and although they are a cheerful yellow, my favourite colour, I am trying out ways to eliminate them from our garden, apart from picking off all the flower heads.  One effective way seems to be the old household remedy of a mixture of white vinegar and washing up liquid.  It certainly kills off the existing foliage, but I am sure there will be new leaves and flowers coming up soon, so I think it must be one of those things that has to be repeated.  Any other methods would be welcomed.  The roots are so deep that pulling them up, especially when they appear in the cracks on a paved path, isn't easy.

Dandelions - I use a spoonful of salt, into the centre of the plant.

AND I agree, there appears to be many more this year than in previous years.  So beware of wetting the bed.  :o

Not having good day, sunny but   quite windy and bingo bingo my whirly  broke at the base, luckily the washing was dry, thought it funny at first but my husband's patience  wore very thin,  when he was in the line for patience he was at the back of the queue,  so I came in and  left him to it.

My daughter had  rescue dog she has had for about 10 years,   he was probably about 3 ish, he came with matted fur in a bad way but the kennels sorted him out but it left him with a skin complaint,  it has cost her a lot of money and food trials to get it better, althpugu not 100%, now poor Terrance isn't well , doesn't sound so good, he is due for a scan this week,  cancer has been mentioned but she won't let him go through that, she might have to make a heartbreaking decision,  we just hope poor T boy lasts till my grandson comes home from Aus, he is a lovely dog, a shitzu, but seems to have some other mixture but he is more of a shitzu,  whatever he is we all love him,  it might on,y be a dog but he is part of their family.

I am off to Chelmsford Catherdral tomorrow for the Maudy service, think I will enjoy the peace after today.

I have noticed dandelions, they do look nice till they produce their heads then everyone gets seeds for next year.

Take care

LM

Well Louisa,it is painful but as a Vet said to me when having a dearly loved pet put to sleep,” It is the last kindness you can do for them”.
It is isn’t it really but it feels like a betrayal.
It spares them such pain , we don’t qualm at anaesthetics for treatment to make their lives better etc ,it is the same just that they don’t wake up. That is for us to bear, they know nothing .
We suffer more than they do really.
But very sad .
Viktoria.

Well a lovely visit from Grandson and family today.
Flash Harry had his hair cut in a more attractive style than the last time  which  was of the  unattractive ‘“Henry V” basin cut style, not what was asked for.
Mum had left him and popped into a very nearby shop, having said the usual ( normal )style ,but it was not a nice style - but all O.K ,this time.
They were so good and Kyra is so bright and a chatterbox , don’t  know where she gets that from  ::)
She overshadows F,H sometimes. He is so good with her.

Grandson showed me a photograph of a lovely puppy they have reserved ,it’s mother died shortly after the puppies were born ,so hand reared, that can bring problems I know but they live next to a lady who breeds and trains gun dogs ,she will help them and there are puppy classes available .
It will be a problem when losing the puppy teeth, very mouthy and it hurts
when they “ mouthe”
It is a Boxer, so a big boisterous puppy !

Son left some Matchbox toys for F,H, new ones and a great big j yellow plush octopus for Kyra - I thought whatever will she do with that ! Well play with it ,screams of delight as the legs - tentacles - wrapped around her ,they were like springs - had a life of their own  !
The puppy will probably kill it!

Lily ,I sent a little heat sensitive chick. It hops and cheeps when it feels warmth from your hand ,fluffy yellow ,she will shriek with laughter I am sure.

Lovely sunshine today but cool.

Hope all are well and that you all have a nice weekend too.

Another scooter coming next week ,a smaller model ,I have phoned Quingo to say only bring something that can safely mount four inch kerbs , very few are
dropped and their “ star model”did not last week!
It will get sorted .

Weather forecast not  too promising  for the weekend.

Win £100 in Premium Bonds I got years ago for the grandchildren ,never won  anything before so £50 each for them.
Well bed calls and eldest so might come tomorrow or Sat for  shopping of fresh meat and greens etc
Second son is at Head Office but back next week hope he avoids weekend travel  .
Well goodnight folks. Sleep well .
Viktoria.

Oh Viktoria,  what a lovely day you had with your grandchildren, they must be a delight.

Hope the scooter is better for you, what a worry but I am sure they will sort you out, they don't want bad reviews.

I went to Chelmsford  catherdral  yesterday,  beautiful day and a lovely service,  I had to pay my fare because I  travelled before 9am, what a cheek!, but to be honest it was only £6, on the way home in front of me was a young lad of 6 who  sat  his grandma, we got off the same stop and I had to speak to the woman, he was such a well behaved child, conversation the whole of the journey, people criticise  naughty children but i had to tell her what a well-behaved child he was and clever.

My daughter's dog has been diagnosed with cushings disease,  he has had scans and my daughter waits results, so sad, he was a rescue dog they have had for 10 years or so, not sure how old he is but he must be about 13, Terrance  as he was already named  was made for them, such a lovely shitzu, she might have to make a decision about him which they don't want to but she won't let him suffer.

Silly me forgot hot cross bun, how could I when I know it is good Friday.

Take care, enjoy your day
