Isabella Thompson Born Carlisle 1900
« on: Sunday 13 April 25 21:18 BST (UK) »
Hello all,

I'm looking for some help in regards to my great great aunt Isabella Thompson born 1st February 1900 in Carlisle to parents Edward Thompson a solider in the Border Regiment and his wife Isabella nee Fulton.

Isabella can be found in the 1901 Ireland census with her parents and siblings Maud and George Henry. However by 1911 she isn't listed with the family who are now in Islington, London.

http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/reels/nai000598985/

https://www.rootschat.com/links/01tr3/

In the 1911 census it states 3 children have died, I believe these to be Edward Thomas Thompson born 1891 in Dover died 1892 in Dover, Arthur Herbert born and died 1895 in Mooltan, India whilst Edward was serving in the military over there, and Margaret Thompson also born and died in India.

Any help gratefully appreciated.

Have you checked to see if she was with grandparents?

She's still alive in 1904 at the time he's originally discharged from the army

when he re-enlists in 1914 he lists 4 children b 1902 - 1912, Mary Ellen, Frederick James, Alice and Albert Edward, but then also has George Henry as one of his next of kin

Isabella would still have been under 18 and thus a child at this time, so I can only assume she's died

No sign of her with grandparents but thanks for the suggestion.

Thanks for that, I suppose with him being in the military and being posted in differing parts of the world it may be very difficult to find where she could have died.

Perhaps in Ireland if that’s where she was in 1901 but then she should have been counted in 1911 as a child who had died.

Of the children who died, only Edward is listed on his first set of service records. His entry is crossed out, presumably on his death
