On this census it shows two of my Gt Grandparents children who are deceased by this time. Is that possible?

I have a death record for Catherine Ann (twin of Mary Ann) who died 4 March 1900
and for Michael Loran who died 14 Sept 1900.

Yet both are shown on the census record.

My Gran became the second Catherine Loran when she was born 4 Feb 1903.
Maybe there was a second Michael Loran born around 1905 but there is no record of such.

Any ideas anyone?

Thank you.

It happened quite often, people just did not understand what they needed to fill in.

ah right. They've said 8 out of their 9 children are living at 1911 which is also wrong as it was only 5.
Thanks anyway

I've never come across this before. I can see on the screenshot that the mother had given birth to 9 live children and there seems to be 8 still alive. I can't imagine that, given the specific question about live children in this census, a mistake could have been made.
What is the mother's maiden surname?
Paterson, Torrance, Gilchrist - Hamilton Lanarkshire.
McCallum - Oban, McKechnie - Ross of Mull Argyll.
Scrim - Perthshire.
Liddell - Polmont,
Binnie - Muiravonside Stirlingshire.
Curran, McCafferty, Stevenson, McCue - Co Donegal
Gibbons, Weldon - Co Mayo.
Devlin - Co Tyrone.
Leonard - County Donegal & Glasgow.

That's correct - Allan\Allen
From Mullingar, Westmeath

Soneone else said it was quite common for deceased to be listed in a census as people didn't understand the context but it's the first time I've come across it.

I do have their birth and death records.

The 1911 census was the first census in Scotland were all children born during  the marriage were to be recorded even if they had died which appeared in its own column. For example children born during marriage 7 children still alive 5. Possibly what has happened is that they misunderstood this requirement and listed them as still iving in the actual household in 1911. Worth a thought.
