My comment is not directly related to this discussion.
The initial post refers to a newspaper article dated in the 1800's.
I want to find out if there were newspapers for Doune or Kilmadock dating to 1846.
How do I find this out and if there are newspapers, where can I find them on-line?

I have found the British Newspaper Archive useful. I see the modern newspaper for your search is "The Bridge" but I see from the search facility in the BNA that the Falkirk Herald includes news from your area of research,
