Where is the little girl born 1872 - is she with her mother and new husband later on?  *

Presume the birth for the other little girl would have same information for father but not deceased.

* yes I can see she is and is baptised in 1875 as Clara Smith daughter of Charles & Elizabeth

I guess she wouldn’t have known any other father but Charles.  What a puzzle this one is.

Had a nose at the birth for Clara Elizabeth and yes father Thomas mother Elizabeth formerly Edgington.

Occupation down as servant.

Born 2 Oct 1869 think the address reads 17 Dartmoor St Kensington
Birth registered by mother who starts to put another address 29 something then crosses it out and puts 17 Dartmoor St

I had not looked at that - Thanks.

So has next daughter Louisa, but not next daughter Ellen.  I would guess that they were confused and supplied previous surname not maiden name?

I did it from the GRO like you did the other one, was too inquisitive not to!

So still no telling where she was in 1871 census is there, presume she met Thomas in Kensington, maybe both were working in the same big house as servants/upholsterers.

Can we find the Kensington address in 1871 although I doubt she will be there.

Oh the already complicated plot thickens if that is another child of hers.

No Tuppenney mentioned on that one.

Richard baptised in Hatherop 6 Oct 1867 - no father mentioned.  Mother Elizabeth servant.

So she came back to deliver him to her parents to keep with them and went back to London to work and then have the next child.
