Death notice in the Hamilton Spectator, 21 March 1953
TOWNSEND — At his residence, Bridgeview Survey, on Friday, March 20, 1953, Frederick S. Townsend, beloved hisband of Ethel Cazaly and father of Louise and Bruce. Funeral Monday morning at 8.30 o'clock from the above address to Holy Rosary Church for Requiem Mass at 9 o'clock. Interment in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Recitation of the Rosary Sunday evening at 8.30. Please omit flowers.

In the same newspaper, in the same edition, on page 8, there seems also to be a bit of an obituary for him, Frederick Stevenson Townsend.

TOWNSEND, Ethel Rosetta — At McMaster University Medical Centre, on Tuesday, June 30, 1987, Ethel Rosetta Cazaly, wife of the late Frederick S. Townsend. Dear mother of Bruce of Burlington. Dear sister of Reginald Cazaly of England and Ida Chayer of Dundas. Also survived by several grandchildren. Mrs. Townsend was a lifelong member and Past President of the C.W.L. The family will receive friends at the MARKEY-DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 7 East Avenue South, on Wednesday 6-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Augustine's Roman Catholic Church, Dundas, on Thursday, July 2 at 10 a.m. (leaving the Funeral Home at 9.30 a.m.) Interment in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
