Ancestry's Maths Skills
« on: Thursday 10 April 25 14:20 BST (UK) »
Hi
This is another classic reminder of why I tend to ignore all of Ancestry's "Hints"

"Let's find out if the information about Henry George in this census document matches the Henry George in your tree.
Henry George was 28 years old in 1911.
In 1911, Henry George had been married to Florence  for 24 years. That means, they were likely married in 1907.
"

Just doesn't add up!

Honestly, I didn't do their maths! But I'm so lousy at Maths that I never got an "O" level in it - only exam I ever failed, wasn't even entered.

Presumably should read that Henry George had been married to Florence for 4 years rather than 24 years!

Indeed Pheno, so is the case.
Obviously, Ancestry can't read their own transcriptions!
