It looks as if Ernestina the mother of, Gladys Ernestina, was born in Victoria in 1880.

Father George William Edward Church
Mother Elizabeth Mary Meyer

So it comes into place a little now ;D

It’s definitely the daughter - Gladys Ernestina. I have read she came to live with George & Jane Church in Coolup.
Ernestina (the mother died young)
Perhaps that’s why she went to live with her grandfather

I am not sure what happened regarding the first marriage of Geo William Ed CHURCH.

There are trees online, some of them quite well based, which have her with further marriages in the Eastern states after the  time that George appears with his new wife in WA.

Anyhow.  Perhaps it is not relevant to your  searches.

I *think* he was still married when he wed Jane, I can’t find any record of his divorce & both are listed as Widows on the marriage cert.
His first wife marries twice again having another 4-5 children with 3rd husband (after 11 to George!)
