Llandyfodwg in 1861 census of Wales??
« on: Tuesday 08 April 25 05:42 BST (UK) »
In the census records, I can trace my gg grandparents Thomas Jenkins and his wife Barbara (nee David), in Llandyfodwg (and variant spellings) from 1841 to 1891 (Thomas, at least, Barbara died in 1878). Mostly at Cae Rosser farm (again with variants), except in 1891 when Thomas had stopped farming (he was 85 and died later that year).

But there is a gap. I cannot find the 1861 census returns for Llandyfodwg. Are they missing completely, or were never scanned, or...?
I've occasionally tried various neighbouring parishes to see if Llandyfodwg ended up with them in 1861, but no luck so far.

A scan of the relevant page(s) would be nice, but a transcript will obviously be perfectly acceptable.
If the pages are damaged, the fact I want to check is the location of their daughter, Gwenllian, in 1861. By 1863 she is in Cardiff marrying William Howell, prior to seeking pastures new in Australia (well the colony of Victoria). Even a fragment that shows she was still with her parents in 1861 will save me from trying to find Gwen Jenkins in Cardiff in 1861!?
I've even tried looking there with no success. All I can say is that she wasn't at 3 Church St, Cardiff, which is the address given on the marriage record in 1863.

Many thanks for even reading this far!

Thanks for the quick reply, didn't know about that missing records page - would have helped a long time ago. My fault for not thinking to check for such a thing.

That's annoying, but nothing we can do now.
