Morning  folks, hope I have the date right

Yes, I am an early bird but having a can't sleep night once again,  wish I knew why and I could do something about it.

Been a lovely few days but I haven't been out at all since Friday,  I just have quite a bad cold and didn't want to share it, normally get one this time of the year  except this one is much milder than usual, thank goodness.

Judging  by the news the weather should be very good this week, apparently hottest march/April since 1910 I think the newscaster said, seems strange this time of the year.

Take care everyone

A glorious day here in Devon, though at some times there is a bit of a chill wind.  I was moved to wash things like my dressing gown and the fluffy bathmat - both dry and back in place now.

We have just been to the surgery for our Covid jabs.  The nurse apologised for the needles.  "They're a bit blunt," she said, as she jabbed them in rather forcefully.  :o

LM, is it definitely a cold and not hayfever? The reason I ask is that you said you usually have it at this time of year. I'm often affected in the spring by the tree pollens which have been particularly high this year. People can be affected by these although not by grass and flowers.

Very cold wind coming off the sea today but softened by glorious sunshine.  :)

I have never suffered from hay-fever , there is  always a first I suppose ,  am not sneezing, well not very much, if this us a cold and  I usually get one around this time of year it is completely  different, no sore and runny eyes  either.

I am keeping away from people,  our grandaughter was coming this evening , hopefully she will come towards the end of the week.

Over the last couple of weeks with this nice blowy weather I have got lots if washing done and things put away, I must have been a washer woman in my past life, I am always washing, if I lived in a retirement home I expect I would be restricted as to how many machine loads I was allowed

There is still a chill in the air.

LM, it's surprising how many people develop hayfever later in life, mine was dreadful in childhood, it made me thoroughly miserable but thank goodness I've grown out of it to a great extent. Although sneezing is a symptom not everyone has it, mine usually manifests itself these days as an awful cough. If you are able to take antihistamines it might be worth a try. Hope you're soon feeling better whatever the case.

I'll leave the dawn chorus to you Brigidmac, it's a bit early for me.  ;D

Gillg, sounds like you'll have a sore arm tomorrow! But at least you got your jab.  :)

If sneezing was an Olympic sport I could sneeze for England. I usually have a long bout of sneezing twice a day, mainly when I move to a cool room from a warm one or vice verse.

I tend to get hayfever from tree and grass pollen but not badly as a rule. I have suffered from post nasal drip for years until recently, even having by sinuses drained didn't help. Then a few months ago a nurse suggested I switched from dairy milk to oat milk, what a difference that has made I wish I had known years ago.

Tomorrow the nurse is coming to give me my Covid booster. Next week it will be my B12 jab. I can’t have them both in one arm and my right arm is still very bruised badly bruised and painful from the fracture that I had and that landed me in hospital for a month a few weeks ago. :-[
