yes, you have the parents of Mary Ann. As there is no Mary Ann white on the headstone and the Bane's seam to be all children, and we have from Find a grave this is the place of Mary Ann, I quest

Well digging a little deeper, I think there is a chance they are related.

Thomas BANE, the father of the many deceased children memorialised on the headstone at Melbourne General Cemetery died in 1891.
He had remarried after the death of his first wife. 

His death is here.

To my way of thinking, his mother's maiden name, here as MCINERTY, is very similar to the maiden name of Bridget nee (McINERNEY) WHITE, mother of deceased child Mary Ann WHITE.

One possiblity is that Bridget's father and Thomas's mother were siblings.

I wonder if Mary Ann WHITE was in fact interred at the same location as the BANE children, but does not appear on the Memorial stone.

Just speculations.

Someone on the Irish board may help with some research there if you make a request.

Thank you for that it needs to be looked in to. I know the McInerney line and Bridget's father is Cornelius. Melbourne Cemetery Parkville state that is were Mary Ann in buried. Cornelius  dies in Ireland Clare. So Cornelius and Margaret could be siblings.  If Cornelius was born 1798 then I could be looking for Margert's birth circa 1798 .

There is a good chance that is the connection.
 
when Thomas BANE died , he was a wealthy man and he left his estate to his second wife Ann and his children.

His will is digitiised

The MI was dedicated to his own children, but there is a possibility that he may have "helped " the WHITES with their sad loss, by offering a burial place for the child.

looking through the will very quickly the name O'Shea could be the clue. Bridget's mother was Hannah O'Shea. I see that Thomas dies 6 Jan 1821. Bridget was born in 1833. I would be going back a long way to find any thing out in the 1800 which is very hard in Ireland. I will have a go at looking for Laurance  O'shea.

Thomas BANE’s first wife, Catherine Agnes, was nee REED. Her father recorded on her death registration indexing was Thomas REED. ( 651 / 1861).

Laurence O’SHEA's wife, Mary was nee REED on the birth Victorian indexations of 2 children. Her father was recorded on her death registration indexing was Thomas REID. ( 8016 / 1897)

Laurence O’Shea was a publican of Brighton and wealthy. He died in Nov 1891.

The Death Notice of Mary OSHEA ,- Trove Newspapers- states she was born in Clare (Ire) and she and Laurence came to Vic in 1856.  Their home in Aisling St. Brighton was named Fedamore.

This biography would have been supplied by family and may or may not be factually correct.

Having just viewed the marriage certificate of Laurence O'SHEA and Mary REED available on an online ancestry tree, there is clearly wrong information in the death notice.

Their marriage was in Melbourne at St James Catholic Church in 1865.
Thomas BANE was a witness.
