Hi. On the FAG site if you hit the "photo", then "view original" you can then enlarge the original photo and read the very large headstone. the inscriptions seem to be about the Bane family

i have tried to attach, hope it works

Hi Heath,
I have dug out my old cd.
"Melbourne General Cemetery. Index and transcriptions of Monumental Inscriptions to 1989"

A search of the surname White plus Mary plus 1863 yield no complete match.

Reminder- this does not mean she isn't interred there.

I can only guess at some confusions at the Find a Grave website.

Is this the child's birth?

WHITE Mary Ann
Mother Brodget (Bridget?) MCINERNEY
Father   John
At C'WOOD
12017/1861

There is a matching death in 1863.

Hi
Noting the registration number of Mary's birth as 12017/1861.

The birth registration immediately before it is 12016/1861

Mc CCAUL Isabella Alston
Father Gilbert John
At ST KILDA
1861
12016/1861

A birth notice placed in The Age newspaper 19th July 1861 for Isabella
https://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/154899441?searchTerm=%22mccaul%20%22

So, at a guess, the birth was July 1861

I'm not sure what you mean here.

Catherine Agnes BANE did not die after Mary WHITE.
She died before. Reg 651/1861
