Why are two brothers not found? Are they already serving overseas? Their names are: Sidney James Hawker dob 1908 and Alfred Frank Hawker dob 1900.
Thank you.

There is a Sydney J, 1906 in Chard. If that's any good.

Also in Chard,  an Alfred V , b. 1899.

It might be worth doing a variants  search

Edit - (As it's free to search, I am assuming that I can give you these details)

Thank you Gadget. You always came to my aid in the past.
Unfortunately this is not the one. I just wondered if he had enlisted somewhere other than Birmingham. He was eventually in a tank regiment.

Not to worry as that can easily happen. I hadn't realised that members of the forces were not included.

Have you checked to see if their service records are online or maybe put up an inquiry on the Forces board.

I hadn't realised that military records could be accessed on-line. I'll spend some time on a further search. Thank you once again.

Rather worried about giving my financial details, as I'm not aiming to stay on FindMyPast and there's only a short free trial time (and I'm a bit forgetful).
