When checking the 1871 Census for the Masseys made a file note to alert you to John Massey's location in Swansea but zee leetle grey cells failed (yet again) so playing catch up.

On the Census the households run " ...Killay, Gaytre (s/be Goitre - John Massey), Gaytre (s/be Goitre), Gellidomill (s/be Gelli Dywyll) Farm Sketty, Sketty, Olchfa, Yscuborucha (s/be Ysguboruchaf) Farm ...".

On this 1878 map you can see Goitre Bellaf, Goitre Fawr and Goitre Fâch and the others. The Census doesn't distinguish 'twixt the three so cannot positively identify John's holding. If pressed might plump for Goitre Fâch.

Below Goitre Fâch you can see "Black Boy (P.H)" - my local 40 yrs ago.

Natural daughter means she was illegitimate (as I understand it)

On the NZ death certificate printout for Jane/Jean, her mother should be named if the family knew it.

Yes.
Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.
