Yes, that's the chap.  The couple married in 1899 and yes, he took on a ready made family.  In 1891 his future wife was with her husband, had a John and Ellen Lee as neighbours and these are my chaps parents.  But he is missing.  He was an omnibus driver except for his marriage cert says farrier (horse drawn buses) so he could be doing anything relevant in 1891.
