Blue Silver War Badge?

Any Opinions why this Silver War Badge for Pte 2910 Frederick Benjamin Hodges of Worcester Regt has a Blue Enamel Silver War Badge?

None of the references I've been able to check mention a blue enamel version, and since the medal roll entry for him doesn't show any difference from all the other entries on the same page, I would conclude that the enamelling was done later to 'prettify' it a bit.

That's quite close numbers.. interesting.
BTW whoever bought the Warren badge was lucky, his service record exists. It actually says he should never have been enlisted!
