Disney Forbes GORDON WW1 1921
« on: Monday 24 March 25 22:42 GMT (UK) »
DISNEY FORBES GORDON died on 5 Jan 1921 after serving with the Royal Field Artillery. He died at his parent's home at Old Rayne (near Insch).
Disney was the son of Alexander Gordon and Helen Gordon (nee Forbes).
He is entitled to War Grave designation if proof of burial can be established.
Does anyone know where Disney Forbes Gordon is buried? I would be very grateful for any information

Ref. Aberdeen Press & Journal on 7 Jan. 1921 .. Death Notice of Disney Gordon at School Croft, Old Rayne on 5th Jan., a funeral to be held on 8 Jan. at Oyne Churchyard. Sadly, it looks as if a 17 year old brother James Gordon also died (suddenly) at home on 25 Nov 1921, the funeral to be held on 26 Nov. The location of this, however, was not mentioned in the press notice.

Great work, hgs46. Hopefully Aberdeenshire Council can come up with the Burial Register.
Are you able to post the funeral notice on this site?

Many thanks.

There is a burial at Springbank Cemetery. Aberdeen for Cpt Alexander Gordon - 1870 - 1918?
Could that be his father ?  Couldn't quite read the headstone inscription - sorry.

Will try .. in the meantime, can I say, SP Index birth for Disney suggests (enough) that his full name is Disney Leith Forbes Gordon.
